Mission
This department aims to educate graduates who could analysis human-nature interaction, sustainability balance of this interaction, various issues about cultural environment that occurs because of this interaction and able to plan solutions by taking advantage of the knowledge of geography domain. In this context; the main mission of our department is educate graduates who have the knowledge of basis of geography, well-versed in natural and human environment and human interaction, process and manages the knowledge by technological opportunities, could plan the land, gained the ability to see entire, think about solution-focused, the quality that can contribute to employment in Türkiye and all over the world.
Vision
As geography department, we want to become considerable department in Türkiye and World as well with the quality of students and studies in academic sense for next decades. With this vision, its continues to education activities to educate the geographers of future and support their lifelong learning and graduate education.
Programme Description
Geography is a multidisciplinary science that examines the interaction between human and nature. This science aims to identify problems and create solution projects using the principles of causality, distribution and mutual interest. Department of Geography in Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Tokat Gaziosmanpasa University was founded in 1993 and started to undergradute education in 2016. The department has 4 major divisions including Human and Economic Geography, Regional Geography, Physical Geography, Geography of Türkiye and Geographic Information System. 2 Prof. Dr., 2 Assoc. Prof. Dr., 3 Asst. Prof. Dr. and 1 Research Assistant are currently working at department. In addition, lecturers from different departments of the university teach courses related to their areas.
